The Aged and Disabled Waiver (ADW) Program is a long-term care alternative providing services designed to support and assist individuals who are aged or have disabilities. Locations for services include members' homes and communities where they reside, work and perform daily activities as opposed to in a nursing facility. The objective of this program is to promote choice, independence, participant-direction, respect, and dignity by providing person-centered services. The WV ADW Program is a federally approved program operated in WV by the Bureau for Medical Services (BMS), who contracts with KEPRO as the Utilization Management Contractor (UMC).
The Bureau of Senior Services is responsible for the day-to-day operations and oversight of the ADW Program. As the UMC, KEPRO is responsible for conducting initial and re-evaluation medical eligibility assessments, maintaining analyzing and providing program enrollment data and supporting the program’s processes through the comprehensive, web-based CareConnection© system. KEPRO also reviews and determines prior authorization decisions for requested services.
ADW CareConnection© - KEPRO provides a comprehensive CareConnection© system for data collection and submission. The system accommodates various user roles and even supports work performed by other BMS contractors.
